APPLYING FOR A JOB


  • WHERE CAN I FIND WHAT JOBS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ON CAMPUS?

    CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ON CAMPUS JOBS

    Visit the SRJC Job Board and search on campus positions. Our Career Hub staff is here to assist you in this process as well as show you additional tools on our job board.

  • HOW DO I APPLY FOR AN ON CAMPUS POSITION?

    1. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION 

       
    2. TURN IN APPLICATION FOR VERIFICATION
      • Applications must be approved by the Career Hub 
      • By completing the application via Formstack, it will enter a queue to be approved
      • Most approvals take less than 48 business hours to be approved
      • Please note that during holiday closures, staff is unable to approve any applications, but will do so upon return to campus as a first priority.
         
    3. Apply directly via Jobspeaker.
      • Instructions will be emailed to you once your eligibility has been approved by the Career Hub staff. Please ensure the email you use on the application is current and you check it regularly. 

     

  • DO I NEED  A RESUME? COVER LETTER?

    RESUME & COVER LETTER

    Resume and cover letters are not required unless requested in the job description. With that said, resumes can provide an additional opportunity to tell more about yourself which could help give you an edge over another applicant.

YOU'RE HIRED!


  • YOU GOT THE JOB! NOW WHAT?

    I WAS OFFERED A POSITION, NOW WHAT DO I DO?

    Return to the Career Hub to pick-up a Hiring Packet, which includes:

    • Request/Approval Form
    • I-9 Form
    • W-4 Form
    • Student Payroll Form & Loyalty Oath
    • Student Employment Confidentiality Statement
    • Direct Deposit Form

     

    Once all forms have been completed, return to the Career Hub with the following:

    • Proof of Identification - An additional form of identification from the I-9 List of Acceptable Documents
    • Present a valid original social security card before beginning the first day of work. (including F-1 Visa International students)
      • International Students, please visit our front desk during office hours for assistance on what you need in addition to be hired on campus.

     

  • HOW DO I GET PAID?

    HOW DO I GET PAID?

    • After all paperwork has been completed, payroll will generate a timesheet for you. Please allow up to two weeks for this to arrive.
    • The timesheet will be emailed electronically to your supervisor.
    • Time sheets are submitted to the Payroll Department by 10:00 AM on the 10th of each month.
      • It is your responsibility to ensure your supervisor has signed it and it is submitted on time.
    • Checks are issued on the last working day of the month.

    • How do I use sick time? 
      • All student employees are awarded a bank of 24 hour sick hours to use during each fiscal year in which they work. 
      • If you wish to use any of these hours (please use increments of 15 minutes), simply fill out your timesheet and write "sick" next to hours directly onto the timesheet.
