Steps to Hiring New Student Employees

  1. Supervisor: Submits a Generate New Hire Request
  2. Career Hub: Contacts Student regarding New Hire Orientation & Onboarding
  3. Student: Attends New Hire Orientation, completes i9 verification and completes all required paperwork 
  4. All new hires will complete portions 1 and 2 of the hiring packet
    • Individuals hired in specific departments will be required to complete fingerprinting
    • Various groups of students may need additional time for documentation due to a variety of reasons - so the timeline above may vary by student needs
  5. Career Hub: Verifies accuracy of paperwork 
    • If approved, notifies Human Resources and Payroll for next steps
    • If not approved, notifies student a redo of paperwork and/or document verification needs to be completed
  6. Human Resources: Generates EID from new hire
  7. Career Hub: Notifies new hire and student of EID with "clearance to begin" email.
